We acknowledge the Boonwurrung/Bunurong and Wurrundjeri Woi Wurrung peoples of the Eastern Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land on which we live, work, and create. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.

The word Muka is from te reo Māori, and refers to the fibre of the harakeke (flax) plant — a powerful symbol of family, strength, and connection in te ao Māori (the Māori world). We use this name with deep respect and gratitude for the culture it comes from.
